Selection of operators: Operators should be reasonably fit and free of physical or mental defects that may pose a threat to their own health and safety, or that of others. Disabled persons must not be excluded if they can demonstrate capability with in this criteria.

  • Sufficient movement of limbs and co-ordination to enable proper control of plant and equipment.
 
  • A level of vision enabling judgement of space and distance with normal peripheral vision. If glasses or contact lenses are necessary they must be used at all times when operating plant and equipment
 
  • An ability to hear instructions and audible warning signals. Operators with an audible disability must use a prescribed hearing aid at all times when operating machinery.
